Arriving by Plane

From the airport to Lusófona University (Campo Grande)

Taxi

It is always possible to find a cab at the airport; they are usually found outside the departures and arrivals terminals. Depending on traffic, the journey to the University takes around 10 minutes and costs between 8 and 10 euros. To the city center, it costs between 20 and 30 euros, including baggage fees. If you choose this means of transport, make sure the taximeter is on at the start of the journey

Subway - Airport (red line) to Campo Grande station (green line).

The Lisbon Airport has a Metro (subway) station with a direct line to the city centre. The 'Aeroporto – Saldanha' line takes you to downtown Lisbon in about 20 minutes. The Metro network will allow you to move around the city at ease. It is a quick and inexpensive way to get around, plus you'll get to see Lisbon's subway stations – each with its own theme and décor.

10 minutes away by metro, you can get to Gare do Oriente, the main train station in Lisbon, where you can take trains to all parts of the country.

You can buy the 'Navegante' electronic travel card, which you simply top up with a balance:

- Navegante electronic card: €1.80

- 24H Network pass: €6.80

If you don't want to buy the card, no problem, you can now pay for everything with a bank card without having to buy the electronic card. Just go to the metro gates and put your bank card in the same place as the other electronic cards - swipe your bank card where it says “Contactless” and the gates open. The same goes for exiting the subway.

Buses

Several bus lines stop at the airport arrivals terminal, taking you to different parts of the city. However, please note that the maximum baggage size allowed in these buses is 50x40x20cm. If your baggage exceeds this size, you must take the airport's specific buses (Aerobus and Airport Shuttle). You can pay with your bank card or top up your 'Navegante' electronic card.
